The hardest question to answer is "Why/how did all of this worldwide coordination toward doing something that virtually all (real) experts knew was ridiculous (masks, lockdowns, etc.) ever manage to come about?" A coordinated military operation because of fear of a known bioweapon that turned out not to be as bad as feared makes the most sense...although not much makes much sense.
